Grand Piano House Inc. has been in business since 1982. What sets us apart from other piano dealers is that we are also a piano supply house. Our division, J.D. Grandt Piano Supply Company, has been supplying piano tools and supplies to other piano retailers, piano technicians and piano rebuilders across North America for over 10 years. So you see, we not only know what a well-made piano should look and sound like, we understand the complexity which goes into the building of a fine piano.

You may be unaware that the piano trade is an unregistered or unlicensed trade here in Canada. This means that absolutely any person that would like to, could call themselves a piano tuner. There is no regulation whatsoever to stop untrained, unqualified individuals from having you hire them to service your piano.

At Grand Piano House Inc., we can say that we are actively involved in piano trade shows which are put on in many different regions of the United States – at least 3 per calendar year. We attend these shows which are filled with workshops, seminars, training classes and concerts. Typically regional shows have a minimum of 120 or more piano tuners attending while the annual convention is attended by well over 500 piano tuners and rebuilders across the country. Sadly enough, here in Canada the piano trade industry has been unable to come anywhere near the depth and magnitude of our American counterparts and many Canadian piano technicians have been and continue to operate their businesses with little or no upgrading of their skills or knowledge.
